NEW YORK - Shares of ethanol producers opened mixed Monday as the price of crude oil rose, while the broader market declined.
Crude oil futures for June delivery rose $2.28 to $118.60 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange, boosted by news of an attack on a Nigerian oil facility.
Here is how some ethanol companies fared:
Verasun Energy Corp. fell 39 cents, or 5.7percent, to $6.48.
Aventine Renewable Energy Holdings Inc. fell 26 cents, or 4.8 percent, to $5.17.
Pacific Ethanol Inc. rose 24 cents, or 6.6 percent, to $3.71.
GreenHunter Energy Inc. fell 25 cents to $23.25.
