LAS VEGAS (AP) -The chief executive of MGM Mirage Inc. said Tuesday the casino company planned to push ahead with new projects even after construction costs and an economy that is discouraging spending sent first-quarter profit tumbling 30 percent.

BOSTON (AP) -Boston Beer Co. Inc., which brews Sam Adams-brand beers, said Tuesday it swung to a loss in the first quarter, due to costs and lost sales stemming from a recall of some of its glass bottles last month.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) -Oil refiner Tesoro Corp. on Tuesday posted a bigger-than-expected loss for the first quarter, as narrower refining margins and increased costs overshadowed production and revenue gains.

CONCORD, Calif. (AP) -Logistics and freight transportation provider Pacer International Inc. said Tuesday its first-quarter earnings nearly doubled as strength in its intermodal segment offset weakness in its logistics unit.
