Earnings roundup: Mediacom Communications, Chesapeake

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -Specialty packaging company Chesapeake Corp. said Wednesday it swung to a first-quarter loss on a drop in paperboard packaging sales.

NEWTON, Mass. (AP) -Senior Housing Properties Trust said Wednesday its funds from operations jumped 24 percent in the first quarter as the real estate investment fund collected more rent on its properties.

HOUSTON (AP) -Utility and telecommunication infrastructure company Quanta Services Inc. said Wednesday its first-quarter profit fell 22 percent as higher expenses more than offset increased revenue.

HOUSTON (AP) -Spectra Energy Partners LP, a natural-gas partnership, said Wednesday its first-quarter profit rose 17 percent on higher demand for transportation and storage services.

CINCINNATI(AP) -Clinical research company Kendle International Inc. said Wednesday that its first-quarter profit rose almost 34 percent, helped by rising service and reimbursable out-of-pocket revenues.
