HOUSTON - Utility and telecommunication infrastructure company Quanta Services Inc. on Wednesday predicted second-quarter earnings within range of analyst estimates.

The company expects second-quarter earnings per share in a range of 17 cents to 19 cents.
Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expect earnings per share for the period of 19 cents.
Quanta also said it expects second-quarter revenue in a range of $880 million to $910 million. Analysts expect $900.7 million in revenue.
Additionally, Quanta reported a 22 percent decline in first-quarter profit, but still beat analyst estimates.
Quanta designs, builds and maintains infrastructure for utility, cable and telecommunication companies in North America.
In morning trading, shares rose $2.05, or 7.8 percent, to $28.39. The stock has ranged from $18.38 to $33.42 over the past year.
