The shareholder votes were cast at the Atlanta-based company's annual meeting in Wilmington, Delaware, on Thursday.

Chief Executive Scott Davis, who replaced Mike Eskew after Eskew retired at the end of last year, presided over the meeting.

The company, also known as United Parcel Service, asked shareholders to elect a board of directors to serve until its 2009 annual meeting. It also asked shareholders to ratify the appointment of Deloitte & Touche as UPS' independent registered public accountants for the year ending December 31st.

The company says both measures were approved at the meeting.
