The Minneapolis-based company lobbied on credit card regulations, bankruptcy law changes, patent legislation, data security, taxes, mutual-fund fees, identify theft and provisions of mortgage legislation affecting the licensing of bank employees, according to a disclosure form filed April 17 with the Senate's public records office.
Ameriprise spent nearly $850,000 lobbying in 2007. Lobbyists are required to disclose activities that could influence members of the executive and legislative branches, under a federal law enacted in 1995.
