NEW YORK (AP) - Shares of electrical equipment companies opened lower as higher oil prices and a steeper-than-expected quarterly loss from insurer American International Group Inc. dragged the broader market downward.
How shares of some electrical equipment companies were faring:
Baldor Electric Co., down 53 cents to $31.91.
Thomas & Betts Corp., off 46 cents to $35.40.
Cooper Industries, down 83 cents to $42.54.
Graftech International Ltd., up 27 cents to $22.52, bucking the trend.
