Opening Glance: Insurers fall

NEW YORK - Shares of insurers fell early Friday morning in the first session of trading since American International Group Inc. said it lost $7.8 billion during the first quarter and is embarking on a plan to raise $12.5 billion in new capital.

Chubb Corp. shares fell 75 cents to $52.24.

Shares of Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. fell 64 cents to $67.84.

Shares of bond insurer Ambac Financial Group Inc. fell 11 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $4.60.
