NEW YORK - Household-durables stocks slipped Friday morning as crude-oil prices continued their relentless march higher and investors weighed a nearly $8 billion first-quarter loss at insurer American International Group Inc.

Whirlpool Corp., down 62 cents to $71.21.
Snap-on Inc., down 90 cents to $58.81.
