American International Group Inc., down 32 cents at $39.96

The Wall Street Journal reported the insurer's airplane leasing unit may separate itself after the company's steep first-quarter loss.

The credit crisis hit the bond insurer hard, fueling a $2.41 billion first-quarter loss and $3.58 billion in write-downs.

IndyMac Bancorp Inc., down 23 cents at $3.20

The mortgage lender swung to a first-quarter loss and tripled its credit reserves due in part to the subprime mess.
