NEW YORK - Shares of gold-mining companies mostly fell Monday as the price of the precious metal declined.
Gold for delivery fell 90 cents to settle at $884.90 an ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange, after earlier falling as low as $878.50 an ounce.
Here is how some gold miners are trading:
Goldcorp Inc. fell 3 cents to $39.44.
Gold Fields Ltd. rose 11 cents to $13.88.
Newmont Mining Corp. fell 47 cents to $45.26.
Barrick Gold Corp. fell 59 cents to $38.80.
