The company said that its projection includes prelaunch costs for lead candidate Acapodene, which is designed to treat side effects of androgen deprivation therapy, which is commonly used in prostate cancer treatment.
However, the estimate does not include prelaunch costs for a second Acapodene indication to treat prostate cancer.
GTx anticipates filing an application with the Food and Drug Administration in the summer for Acapodene in the androgen deprivation therapy indication with a potential launch in 2009.
