NEW YORK (AP) - Shares of utility companies were mostly trading lower Monday morning while the broader market rose modestly amid lower oil prices and a higher dollar.

American Electric Power Co. Inc. fell 19 cents to $43.68
Pepco Holdings Inc. fell 5 cents to $25.51
Consolidated Edison Inc. fell 13 cents to $41.23
Southern Co. rose 12 cents to $36.41.
