The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, alleges violations under the Sherman Antitrust Act.
The suit asserts that the defendants refused to approve the distribution of Churchill Downs races to national advance-deposit wagering companies and Calder Race Course in Miami. It requests that the defendants be prevented from boycotting racetracks and wagering operators which do not comply with their demands -including certain racing signal pricing terms.
Spokespeople for the Kentucky Horsemen's Benevolent & Protective Association and the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association were not immediately available for comment late Wednesday.
