CNPC natural gas daily production down 5.6 million cubic meters

China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) said its southwestern oil and gas fields have shut down some of the gas wells, to reduce daily output of about 5.6 million cubic meters, in order to protect the safety of the pipe net and to protect the users to use gas in security and stability.

The China National Petroleum, said that after the earthquake occurred in Wenchuan in Sichuan Province, the gas using declined sharply in Sichuan-Chongqing region, and the pressure in gas pipeline network rose sharply, far more than during the Spring Festival.
