Closing Glance: Investment Banks rise

NEW YORK - Shares of investment banks mostly rose Thursday as broader markets posted gains after oil prices retreated and new data showed the economy is struggling but not as badly as it was a couple months ago.

Here is a look at how some key investment bank stocks fared:

Bear Stearns Cos. rose 21 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $10.32.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. fell $1.51 to $188.62.

Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. rose $2.54, or 6 percent, to $44.77.

Merrill Lynch & Co. shares rose $1.10, or 2.3 percent, to $49.97.

Morgan Stanley shares rose 75 cents to $47.71.
