Hawaiian Electric president exercises options

NEW YORK - The president of Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc. exercised options for 33,300 shares of common stock, according to Securities and Exchange Commission filings Wednesday.

In Form 4s filed with the SEC, Constance H. Lau reported exercising the options Wednesday for $17.63 apiece and then selling 35,250 shares for $26.07 to $26.52 apiece.

Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transactions in their companies' shares. Open market purchases and sales must be reported within two business days of the transaction.

Hawaiian Electric Industries is based in Honolulu.
