The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers union said Thursday that a majority of its members accepted the salary and benefits contract.
The 7,700 ramp and baggage employees were previously working under separate, pre-merger agreements from the former, Tempe, Ariz.-based America West Airlines or the former, Virginia-based US Airways.
Tempe, Ariz.-based US Airways Group Inc. has merged much of its work force since the 2005 combination with America West. It still needs to negotiate joint contracts with flight attendants and pilots.
