Xbox 360 vide console reached 10 million unit sales in the U.S. since it was launched in November 2005, Microsoft Corp said late Wednesday.

"History has shown us that the first company to reach 10 million in console sales wins the generation battle," said Don Mattrick, a head of Microsoft's Xbox business, in a statement.
Software developer Microsoft also said that its Xbox Live online service reached 12 million subscribers, more than the doubling its membership in one year.
Shares of Microsoft rose 0.50 percent to $29.93 at the closing trading of the Nasdaq on Wednesday. Shares fell an extra 0.13 percent in after hours trading.
