DALLAS (AP) - Celanese Corp. said Friday that its Celanese Acetate business will increase the price of acetate tow in the Asia region for standard grades by 7 percent to 10 percent, depending on the item.

Acetate tow is made from wood pulp in and is used as a raw material for the manufacture of filters for cigarettes.
The increases are effective July 1, or subject to existing contracts, the company said.
Pricing for premium and specialty grades, including make-to-order items, of acetate tow will increase by a differentiated amount to reflect their unique requirements, Celanese said.
Celanese shares rose 34 cents to $47.51 in morning trading.
