NEW YORK - Shares of aerospace and defense companies fell Friday as the broader market moved modestly lower, as oil prices again closed at a record high, tempering positive news that new home construction jumped in April.

Rockwell Collins Inc. lost 57 cents to $65.77.

Honeywell International Inc. shed 34 cents to $61.81.

L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. gave up 68 cents to $110.30.

Raytheon Co. fell 71 cents to $65.12.
