B&W will engineer and supply a circulating fluidized bed boiler and other emissions-control equipment for Great River Energy's Spiritwood Station, a heat and power plant located near Spiritwood, N.D.

Fluidized bed boilers can burn a wide range of fuels with very low emissions and few environmental impacts.

Commercial operation of Spiritwood is scheduled to begin in March 2010, the company said.
