Nymex average daily volume rises 22 percent

NEW YORK (AP) - Nymex Holdings Inc., operator of the New York Mercantile Exchange, said Friday average daily volume increased 22 percent in April.

About 1.7 million contracts were traded each day in April, compared with 1.4 million contracts per day during the same month a year ago.

The net average rate per contract sold in April was $1.29, four cents higher than the $1.25 per contract rate during April 2007.
