NEW YORK (AP) - Shares of commercial banks fell Friday morning as a better-than-expected jump in construction of new homes in April was offset by yet another jump in crude-oil prices to a record high near $128 per barrel.

National City Corp., down 2 cents to $5.79.
Wachovia Corp., down 30 cents to $27.30.
First Horizon National Corp., down 6 cents to $10.03.
Zions Bancorp., down 98 cents, or 2.2 percent, to $44.58.
