NEW YORK (AP) - Household durables stocks slid Friday morning as record-high crude oil prices near $128 per barrel offset a better-than-expected jump in home construction during April.

Whirlpool Corp., down 44 cents to $75.45.
Snap-on Inc., down 32 cents to $60.73.
