Washington Post CFO Morse to retire at end of 2008

WASHINGTON - Washington Post Co. said Friday Chief Financial Officer and Principal Accounting Officer John B. Morse Jr. will retire at the end of the year.

Morse, 61, has worked at the newspaper publisher since 1989.

The company said it will name a successor shortly.

Morse is a Host Hotels and Resorts Inc. board member and also serves as a director for the Northern Virginia Technology Council. He was recently appointed president of the College Foundation at the University of Virginia.
