MADRID - Spanish power company Iberdrola SA said Sunday it plans to invest $8 billion in renewable energy in the U.S. between 2008 and 2010.
The company said in a news release it wants to have a 15 percent share of the wind power market in the U.S. by 2010.
Iberdrola added it had a wind power production capacity of 2,400 megawatts in the U.S. at the end of March and expected to reach 3,600 megawatts by the end of the year.
Iberdrola, based in Bilbao, northern Spain, is the world's biggest wind-power generator.
