General Mills Sr. Vice President exercises options

NEW YORK - A senior vice president of food maker General Mills Inc. exercised options for 62,500 shares of common stock, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In a Form 4 filed with the SEC Friday, Christina L. Shea reported exercising the options on Thursday for $34.56 apiece, then selling all 62,500 shares on the same day for $61.50 to $61.70 apiece.

Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transactions in their companies' shares. Open market purchases and sales must be reported within two business days of the transaction.

General Mills is based in Minneapolis.
