NEW YORK - Shares of gold mining companies were mixed in morning trading Monday as the price of the metal rose and the value of the U.S. dollar slipped.
Gold traded in London at $908.75 per troy ounce, up from $904.00 late Friday. The euro traded at $1.5609, up from $1.5584 late Friday in New York.

Goldcorp Inc. fell 12 cents to $41.15
Gold Fields Ltd. rose 1 cent to $14.21
Newmont Mining Corp. rose 12 cents to $48.99
Barrick Gold Corp. fell 19 cents to $40.01.
