WESTFORD, Mass. - Networking hardware and software maker Sonus Networks Inc. said Tuesday Richard N. Nottenburg, a former executive at Motorola Inc., will succeed Hassan Ahmed as president and chief executive.
Ahmed, 50, will continue to serve as Sonus Networks' chairman after Nottenburg joins the company in mid-June. Ahmed has served as CEO since 1998 and as chairman since 2004.
Nottenburg, 53, served as executive vice president and chief strategy and technology officer for Motorola. Previously, he was vice president and general manager of Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. after its combination in 2003 with Multilink Technology Corp., where he was co-founder and CEP.
