NEW YORK - A director of investment bank Jefferies Group Inc. bought nearly 1.2 million shares of common stock, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
In a Form 4 filed with the SEC Tuesday, Ian M. Cumming reported buying the shares on Friday and Monday for $17.77 to $18.27 apiece.
The shares are beneficially owned by Leucadia National Corp., of which Cumming is chairman and a significant shareholder.
Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transactions in their companies' shares. Open market purchases and sales must be reported within two business days of the transaction.
Jefferies Group is based in New York.
