GLENDALE, Calif. - Pancake house IHOP Corp., which also owns the Applebee's restaurant chain, said Wednesday it will change its corporate name to DineEquity Inc. on June 2.

The company will begin trading under the symbol "DIN" on the New York Stock Exchange then as well.
IHOP said the acquisition of Applebee's meant the company had to change its name to one that shows it owns multiple brands.
