EL PASO, Texas - Regional utility El Paso Electric Co. said Thursday it will sell 30-year senior unsecured notes worth $150 million.
The notes, underwritten by Credit Suisse, were priced at 99.146 percent of par with a coupon of 7.5 percent per year at a yield to maturity of 7.574 percent.
Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes like capital expenditures, repaying debt and ensuring liquidity.
El Paso Electric has about 357,000 retail and wholesale customers in a 10,000 square-mile area of the Rio Grande Valley in western Texas and southern New Mexico.
Shares rose 49 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $21.58 in afternoon trading.
