Separately, a Lehman Brothers analyst reiterated his "Overweight" rating on Commscope Inc., saying the company will benefit from stable U.S. demand and growing opportunities overseas.
Here's how some shares of electrical equipment performed:
Commscope Inc., up $1.21, or 2.3 percent, to $54.85.
Baldor Electric co., up $1.57, or 4.7 percent, to $35.20.
Itron Inc., up $1.28 to $97.58.
Emerson Electric Co., up 66 cents to $58.18.
