NEW YORK - Shares of gold-mining companies closed mixed Monday as the price of the metal gained in U.S. trading.
Gold traded up $10.10 per ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange to $887.30.
How some gold miners fared Monday:
Goldcorp Inc., up 44 cents to $40.58.
Gold Fields Ltd., down 5 cents to $12.88.
Newmont Mining Corp., up 24 cents to $47.77.
Barrick Gold Corp., unchanged at $40.29.
