NEW YORK - Shares of real estate investment trusts traded higher Monday morning after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke maintained expectations that the economy will get better later this year.
Investors were also relieved by falling oil prices.
How shares of some REITs performed shortly after the market opened:
SL Green Realty Corp. rose 77 cents to $96.93.
Brookfield Properties Corp. added 2 cents to $19.89.
Boston Properties Inc. climbed 81 cents to $95.73.
Kimco Realty Corp. gained 39 cents to $38.54.
