WASHINGTON - HealthSouth Corp., which provides inpatient rehabilitative care, spent more than $597,000 in the first quarter to lobby on health-related matters, according to a disclosure report.

The Birmingham, Ala.-based company lobbied Congress on issues involving physician ownership of hospitals, general matters affecting reimbursement and other policies affecting inpatient rehabilitation hospitals during the January-to-March period.
The report was filed April 21 with the House clerk's office.
