WASHINGTON - International Paper Co. spent nearly $806,000 in the first quarter to lobby on energy and climate change legislation and other issues, according to a disclosure report.

The paper-products company also lobbied on legislation involving tax reform, security of chemical facilities, illegal logging and other issues, according to the report filed April 18 with the House clerk's office.
Besides Congress, Memphis, Tenn.-based International Paper lobbied the White House, Environmental Protection Agency, and the departments of Commerce and Treasury in the first three months of the year.
