WASHINGTON - Defense contractor ITT Corp. spent $490,000 in the first quarter to lobby on proposed defense spending plans and other issues, according to a disclosure report.

The White Plains, N.Y.-based company lobbied the federal government on funding for defense research and development and operations as well as funding for weather satellites, space telescopes, earth science and the reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration.
In the January-to-March period, the company lobbied Congress, several military services, the Federal Aviation Administration, NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, according to the report filed April 16 with the House clerk's office.
