NEW YORK - Shares of gold mining companies were trading mixed Wednesday, while the price of the metal gained.

Goldcorp Inc. fell 23 cents to $39.27.

Gold Fields Ltd. fell 20 cents to $12.31.

Newmont Mining Corp. gained 34 cents to $47.24.

Barrick Gold Corp. slipped 14 cents to $39.59.
