URS receives new contract from California agency

SAN FRANCISCO - Engineering and construction company URS Corp. on Wednesday said it received a contract worth up to $90 million from California's Department of Water Resources.

The contract is to evaluate 800 miles of non-urban levees in California's Central Valley and assist the department with managing evaluations for about 1,600 miles of the state's Central Valley levees.

URS will perform data collections, field exploration and testing analysis. Previously, URS had a contract to evaluate 350 miles of the levee systems surrounding highly populated urban areas.
