Opening Glance: Gold-mining stocks open mostly up

NEW YORK - Shares of gold-mining companies opened mostly higher Monday as the price of the commodity edged up in morning trading.

NEM	43.28	-0.06
ABX	34.2	-0.31
GG	42.36	-0.03

The price of gold on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose $2.10 to $897.50 in morning trading.

How some gold miners are trading:

Goldcorp Inc. rose 40 cents to $41.66.

Gold Fields Ltd. fell 1 cent to $12.55.

Newmont Mining Corp. rose 42 cents to $48.74

Barrick Gold Corp. rose 21 cents to $42.28.
