SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Agilent Technologies Inc. said Wednesday it acquired Taiwan-based Escort Instruments Corp., a supplier of low-cost test and measurement instruments and a unit of Unitech Printed Circuit Board Corp.

Agilent said the deal adds R&D expertise and expands its portfolio of measurement instruments that can be easily transported for installation and maintenance activities. The company's current products include basic power supplies, benchtop and handheld digital multimeters, handheld oscilloscopes and USB data acquisition devices, among others.
The Escort Instruments assets are being integrated into the basic instruments division of Agilent's electronic measurements business.
