The Atlanta-based Internet services provider also lobbied on "network neutrality" rules, which would prevent broadband providers from discriminating against or favoring certain Internet traffic.

Specifically, Earthlink lobbied on a bill that would codify the principle that the Internet should remain open and free of interference by network operators, and also urge the Federal Communications Commission to launch an inquiry into broadband services and consumer rights, according to the form filed with the House clerk's office April 21.
