NEW YORK - Shares of electrical equipment companies closed mixed as the broader market edged higher, erasing most of its intraday gains as the price of oil jumped and a management shakeup at investment bank Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. cast the spotlight on the financial sector.

General Cable Corp., up 15 cents to $65.40.
Wesco International Inc., down 43 cents to $41.40.
