NEW YORK - Shares of electrical equipment companies finished higher alongside the broader market as oil prices eased and the Labor Department said core inflation rose modestly, although prices jumped at their highest rate month-to-month when including volatile food and energy costs.
How shares of some electrical equipment makers performed:
Graftech International Ltd., up 91 cents, or 3.7 percent, to $25.50.
Avnet Inc., up 61 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $29.68.
Thomas & Betts Corp., up 27 cents to $38.
Molex Inc., up $1.03, or 3.9 percent, to $27.47.
