The Mountain View, Calif.-based company also lobbied on a bill that would require the Treasury Department to reach an agreement with a group of tax preparation companies to provide a software service allowing all taxpayers to electronically prepare and file their returns through the IRS Web site for free, according to the form filed with the House clerk's office on April 22.

The Free File Alliance already has partnered with the IRS to provide free electronic tax filing services to taxpayers who fall below certain income levels.
