LDK Solar signs 5-year deal with Jiangxi Solar

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - LDK Solar Co. said Friday it has signed a five-year contract to supply solar wafers to China-based Jiangxi Solar PV for an undisclosed amount.

Under terms of the agreement, the China-based solar wafer maker will deliver 70 megawatts of solar wafers to Jiangxi over five years beginning in 2009.

Jiangxi is a new venture created by U.S.-based Solar PV Corp.

LDK Solar shares jumped $2.08, or 5.8 percent, to $37.73 in afternoon trading.
