NEW YORK - Shares of electrical equipment companies opened higher on Friday alongside the broader market as the Labor Department's report on core inflation--or price increases excluding food and energy costs--met investor expectations.

Amphenol Corp., up $1.31, or 2.7 percent, to $49.16.
Graftech International Ltd., up 74 cents, or 3 percent, to $25.33.
Molex Inc., up 58 cents to $27.02.
Wesco International Inc., up 35 cents to $41.80.
