COLUMBIA, Md. - Sourcefire Inc., which makes network security products and information management systems, on Monday named John C. Burris chief executive, effective July 14.
Burris, 53, has been on the board of Sourcefire since March and is senior vice president of sales and services at information technology company Citrix Systems Inc.
He replaces E. Wayne Jackson III, who said he was stepping down in February but would continue in his role until a replacement was named. Jackson will remain on the board.
In February, the company said its fiscal-year loss widened to $6.5 million, or 32 cents per share, although revenue jumped 24 percent to $55.9 million.
